The Story of Us
(Ok, I know we need to update this.)
Twenty-five years ago I was born. Wait, that’s probably too far back to start. Let’s try this: Eight years ago I met a woman and instantly fell in love (well, almost instantly, these things do take time) and asked her to marry me. Now, jump forward eight years and here we are, just a couple months away from being parents!
I suppose I better go into more detail than that, though. The year was 1997 and I was looking for love. I found my chance in September of that year when the school put on a banquet! Who would I ask to go? Well, as you probably guessed, it was Liz. Somehow, we immediately fell for each other and I asked her to “go out” about two days later. Then, later that December I went for it and really asked her to go out. It was more permanent this time.
As you all know she said yes, we got married and went on to college together in the sweltering desert of Arizona. Three years later we graduated with degrees in graphics and multimedia and came back home to the blessed rain and dampness of Washington. Not having job yet, we took pity on Liz’s parents and let them take us in for a couple months until we could get on our feet. Soon, we both had jobs of our own and we moved out to our own place in Seattle (Gary and Sheila took it well).
Then, in August of 2004 I started working at a new company in Mountlake Terrace. Because of the distance, we decided to move closer to my work and got a new apartment there, then later bought a house in South Everett. That was nine months ago and we’re still pulling weeds! That month gave us a lot of changes: new house, new car, and, you guessed it, a new baby. She’s now eight weeks old and she’s got a good set of lungs on her…
